Do not stare down at the stones that lie broken and crumbling beneath your feet.  Look out.  Lift your eyes and see that this fallen wall is now a portal that you can walk through.

Schedule a NAT Session

I have recently learned how to use the Neuro-Auricular Technique (NAT) on clients.  It involves using an auricular probe to apply six essential oils along the occipital ridge (base of the skull) and the cervical vertebrae of the spine in a seven-step procedure.  David Stewart (no relation) gives a great explanation of NAT:

“The purpose of NAT is to fully awaken and restore full capacity to the locus ceruleus and vagal ganglion at the base of the brain and to connect all of the synapses of the brain and upper spinal cord, thus creating an environment that facilitates optimal health, healing and bodily function.”

Due to the cost of the oils (Frankincense, Valerian, Vetiver, Roman Chamomile, Cedarwood and Sandalwood) I will be charging $100 per NAT session.  If you provide your own oils, you’ll pay the usual $60 for a one-hour session.

Magnesium is the Relaxation Mineral

From Mark Hyman, MD, who suggests we all take a magnesium supplement:

If you have a twitch, a spasm, a cramp or an irritable something, the chances are you are very low on magnesium.  Our processed diet contains almost none.

From the Rudolf Magnus Institute of Neuroscience:

Anxious behavior has been linked to low levels of magnesium

In the brain, suggesting that symptoms may be alleviated with the use of supplements.

BodyTalk Testimonial

A client sent me an email recently, the day after she had a session:  “Thank you again for always making me feel great!”  Is it time for you to “feel great?”  Give me a call.  I look forward to seeing you.

Brain Games

Neuroscience For Kids offers lots of great games & even some jokes to get kids (and adults) more interested in the brain.  Try the Face Recognition Game, decode the brain quote, or check out the corny jokes:  What kind of fish performs brain surgery? . . . . . . . . . . . .  A neurosturgeon.   Activate your brain and have fun, too:

Talking With Your Teen

The teen years are new territory for teens and their parents.  Some days it seems as if you’ll never have a reasonable conversation.  I think Elizabeth Berkley’s article, “How To Get Your Daughter To Talk To You,” has good tips for parents of daughters and sons.

Focus on Basil Essential Oil

My first experience with essential oils occurred when a massage therapist put basil on my jaw.  I was shocked at how completely my TMJ and related muscles relaxed. Therapeutic-grade Basil essential oil is antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and a decongestant. (Avoid if pregnant or epileptic.)

*Add a few drops to your favorite recipe.

*Inhaling basil can refresh the mind and restore mental alertness.

*Often used for bronchitis, colds and coughs.

*Rub a few drops onto tense areas for relief.

*Also useful for fatigued and aching muscles.

*Add a couple drops of basil to 1 cup of Epsom salts in your bath for gout, arthritis or muscular pain.

*Apply to stings and bites, especially mosquito bites.

*Gently rub on temples for migraines. (Avoid eyes.)

Al Sears, MD on Strong Bones

“The mainstream medical community still recommends that you strengthen your bones by consuming more calcium.  They tell you to drink more milk and take calcium pills.  But here’s what’s flawed about that prescription:  It doesn’t matter how much calcium you get.  If your body isn’t metabolizing it properly, it won’t do your bones any good. To prevent or even reverse osteoporosis, you need to make sure your body regulates calcium properly. And the best way to do that is by getting more vitamin K2.  This overlooked nutrient tells your body when to fuse the calcium into your bones to make them stronger and denser. Sources of food rich in K2 include egg yolks, organ meats, organic or raw milk, traditionally fermented cheeses-especially Swiss Emmental and Norwegian Jarlsberg, and dark leafy greens.”

Chi Machine

Back pain, shoulder and neck pain, knee pain, stress—so many problems can be alleviated by using the Sun Ancon Chi Machine.  Ian, from Merseyside, UK shares the following:

I have spent a great deal of money over the years on various alternative treatments to relieve my constant back pain, however since I have been using the Chi Machine I have gained enormous relief, my back has not felt this good for years.

If you would like to borrow a Chi Machine, to see what it can do for your health, give me a call.

Look Inward and Remove Negative Emotion

Shared by Tracy Griffiths, a recognized authority on the therapeutic effects of yoga and essential oils:

I feel that the succinct statement, “Your inner world creates your outer world,” rings true.  When we take the time to look inward and make the choice to clear out negative emotions and memories from our past, we can build our outer life from a clean slate.  I have found that combining Inner Child Essential Oil Blend with restorative yoga poses is an effective and simple way to help my clients and students move through emotionally charged issues.  I invite you all to incorporate this practice into your routine—or simply pick up the practice of yoga, if you haven’t—and create for yourself a world of inner peace.

Cheap & Green

Moth balls are toxic to moths and people.  Make your own green repellents that also make attractive Mother’s Day gifts.

Moth Chasers (Source:  The Art Of Giving)

Make natural moth repellents by cutting rectangles from cotton or linen material.  Fold in half lengthwise, right sides facing.  Pin and machine stitch the two long sides, leaving the top edge raw.  Turn through and fill with cedar wood or dried lavender, strengthening the scent with the matching essential oil.  Tie a cord around the top to close and add a label.

Heat & Cancer

The evidence that heat is an effective cancer treatment is compelling.  Far Infrared heat is often the heat of choice when dealing with growths and tumors.  Learn more about the heat/cancer connection here.  To have Far Infrared heat treatments in your own home, you can purchase the HTE Hot House.

Something to think about:

Think for a moment:  If you were living the cleanest, most honest, least-cluttered version of your own life, what would that look and feel like?  What messes would you be free of, and what kind of energy and focus would be freed up as a result?
