Sue’s June 2011 Newsletter
People are like a storage battery, constantly discharging energy and unless they are recharged at frequent intervals they soon run dry.

BodyTalk Testimonial
From an email I received from a client:
“I thank you for creating a space where I felt safe enough to bring (my difficulty) forward. I was not able to verbalize it before. You are very intuitive and I am so glad I have you as a resource.”
BodyTalk brings into the open issues that you are ready to deal with. Call me for an appointment when the time feels right for you.
Cool Off This Summer
A quick way to feel cooler longer: Put a drop of peppermint oil into a bowl, then add some water. Soak a bandanna in the peppermint water, wring it out, then tie the bandanna around your neck. Keep your neck cool, and the rest of you will feel cooler for hours.

It’s Not Just About Food
Geogianna Donadio says it so well in her article linked below: “What is missing from many “nutrition books of the week” is the organic, common sense understanding that the food we eat is just part of a multi-faceted set of choices we make in how we choose to live and behave.” Check out what she has to say about new analysis of “the Mediterranean diet.”

And The Winner Is . . . Not Us
Today, the average supermarket carries 48,750 items. In 1949, there were no supermarkets, but grocery stores carried around 3700 different products. So what is the most purchased item? It’s not milk or bread, not toilet paper either. We bought more carbonated drinks than anything else, to the tune of $12 billion in 2009.
San Antonio Area Aromatherapy Meetups
June 8: If you are in Northeast San Antonio, consider going to Lorraine’s meetup at Patricia’s Day Spa. The topic is Raindrop Therapy. Someone in attendance will receive a Raindrop treatment. Others will receive a free sample of Young Living’s antioxidant drink, NingXia Red. The event begins at 6:30. Patricia’s is located at 3320 Oakwell Court.

June 23: Potluck at my house. Topic: “Letting Go With Essential Oils.” Learn a simple protocol for letting go of old emotional baggage, allowing peace and emotional freedom to take root. Meal begins at 6:15, education at 6:30. Email or text to RSVP.
Essential Oil Classes
There are still a couple of openings left in the three classes on essential oils I’ll be teaching in June through NISD’s Adult & Community Education Department:
Essential Oil Basics—June 8
Essential Oils for Depression & Anxiety—June 15
Essential Oils for ADD/ADHD and Autism—June 20

Cheap & Green
Disinfect your counters with one part hydrogen peroxide and two parts water. Add a couple of drops of essential oils for a nice scent.
Chi Machine
Barbara Z. is very happy with her Chi Machine:
“Since using The Chi Machine, my breathing/lung capacity has seemed to increase. My desire to move more has increased as well. I've had less colds (almost nonexistent), so I'd definitely say my immune system has benefited. When I use the Chi Machine regularly, I am more peaceful and relaxed and I sleep MUCH better, which contributes to how well I experience all other aspects of my life.”
If you would like to borrow a Chi Machine, to see what it can do for your health, give me a call.
Essential Oils for Pets
Dogs with wounds that won’t heal can benefit from essential oils, just like people. Michael Fox, DVM mentions some terrific ones in a recent column. Melrose blend would also be a great choice.
Something to think about:
The role of the five senses acting as filters in interpreting the world can be summarized as follows:
1) The senses allow limited information in. (Examples: we can’t see into the ultraviolet range of the electromagnetic spectrum, but it is there; we can’t hear frequencies that some animals can hear)
2) We create memories/belief systems around the information (i.e., it is either good or bad,) and then
3) The memories/belief systems in turn distort the information coming in through the senses.
We don’t have a direct experience of what is happening—it’s all filtered through memory tapes. And the memory tapes ensure that we experience what we believe.

That’s it for my June newsletter. If there is a topic you’d like to see covered, let me know. I’m always looking for new ideas. Points to you for sticking with my newsletter to the very end! The first five people who send me an email with the subject line “I read it all” will get $5 off their next appointment.
Is it time for a session? Give me a call!
Take care,
Sue
