Chest Infections Cleared Quickly With BodyTalk Access From the April 15, 2009 Access Newsletter, contributed by Leslie Doka: “We just had another great experience with the Body Talk Access. Charlie (her toddler- aged son) got a bad chest infection and could barely breathe with the runny nose and the whole bit… he spent one day down in the dumps, but the 3rd day he was almost 100% clear… my daughter experienced the same thing. It’s just amazing. I do not know how long they both would have been sick, but they just seem to bounce back with super- powers overnight… ☺ A good lesson for mommy that the regular maintenance needs to be higher on the priority list, to help from contracting the bug in the first place.”

What Does Therapeutic Grade Mean? I am using essential oils more often in BodyTalk sessions and have decided to become a distributor for Young Living to save money on purchases. When I’ve been asked if essential oils that are cheaper are just as good, my answer has been that I didn’t think so. Now I know why. Young Living oils are therapeutic grade—meaning they are distilled in a unique way and still have the original properties from the plant that benefit our health. 98% of the others are perfume grade—they just smell good. True therapeutic-grade essential oils can strengthen the immune system and be anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, antiseptic, anti-tumoral and even anti-fungal. If you’re going to spend money on it, get the real thing.
Jackie McLaughlin will be teaching a class on Raindrop Technique September 20 to anyone interested in learning this powerful protocol. It involves using several essential oils and massage techniques on the feet and spine. For more information, contact Jackie: 210-495-9548. If you don’t want to take the class, but would like to experience Raindrop Technique for yourself, call me and schedule a session. The cost is $70. If you have your own Young Living Raindrop oils, the cost is only $60.
Flowering Plants Speed Recovery “Research has confirmed the beneficial effects of plants and flowers for patients recovering from abdominal surgery. . . Patients with plants in their rooms had significantly fewer intakes of pain medication, more positive physiological responses (lower blood pressure and heart rate), less pain, anxiety, and fatigue, and better overall positive and higher satisfaction with their recovery rooms than their counterparts in the control group without plants in their rooms.” --American Society for Horticultural Science press release 12/08

Wide Awake, But Not Caffeinated If you’re trying to reduce coffee intake or just looking for alternate ways to feel energized when you are dragging, I’ve compiled the following tips:
- Buff your nails—Place the fingernails of one hand against the fingernails of the other hand and buff them together. Do this for 2-3 minutes.
- Breath peppermint or lemon essential oil—They are invigorating and stimulating.
- Tap your heels—Lift up slightly on your toes, then come down heavily on your heels. Do this three times.
- Brush your teeth
- Take a 10-15 minute mini-nap
- Drink some Ningxia Red—an energizing juice available through Young Living.
- Exercise—take a quick walk or run up and down the stairs a couple of times.
- Listen to lively music
DentalPlans.com If you don’t have dental insurance, consider looking into the discount plan: www.DentalPlans.com They offer several discount plans for individuals and families. Our dentist was listed on DentalPlans.com and the discounts we qualify for are greater than the cost of joining the plan--just for cleaning and regular exams. We are saving an additional $765 this month because one of my children is having wisdom teeth removed by our oral surgeon, who is also listed on DentalPlans.com. Go to the website and see if your dentist, orthodontist or oral surgeon is listed. If you decide to join, you can use this discount code for additional savings: 54R07S27. (Full disclosure: If you use the code, I can receive additional coverage.)
